First Time Home Buyers Bought Half The Homes In 2016
First time home buyers are rockin' the market. Zillow found 47 percent of buyers this year moved into their first homes. Congrats!
That's the good news. People have been able to scrap up the down payment, clean up their credit and navigate the mortgage gauntlet to be able to purchase their dream home.
Here's the challenging news: According to the Zillow Group's first annual Report on Consumer Housing Trends report, mostly college-educated buyers are the ones able to do all of the above. The report found 62 percent of 2016 buyers had at least a four-year college degree.
Here's a big surprise: the report found buyers 65-75 years old bought smaller homes than the ones they left but paid more for them. (ouch!).
Zillow released the report last week.
