About Adam
As a kid, I was so full of energy and enthusiasm that my parents didn't know what to do with me. In the backyard I had built a treehouse. Now, this was not like other treehouses: it was huge, like 4 stories huge. I had beds in there, couches, it was the ultimate club palace. It may have looked like Dr. Suess made it, but all the kids in the neighborhood loved it and I loved making it; truly this was the beginning of my love affair with Real Estate.
My start in sales was as a result of my mother. Now, I love her dearly, but her default for any request was no and it was a process to sell her on an idea. More times than not, she would come around to yes. I learned not to take no for an answer and also the art of persuasion. My mother would often comment that I could sell ice to Eskimos, my poor mother, lol.
At my core, I'm an entrepreneur: my first business was at 10 years old, I got a business license in LA and was selling candy, door to door; and I even had employed other kids to do the same. I had a lot of sales jobs as I was growing up and I learned that I never wanted to sell something I didn't absolutely believe was the best on the market and only to those that really needed it. That old saying of selling sand to the Arabs did not have any allure to me. Despite missing out on some sales I could have made, my sales numbers were always among the top of any company for which I worked. This got the attention of a start-up called the SoftPages. I really believed in what they were doing and I outsold the entire company of salesman, combined. So at only 24, they made me VP of Sales, growing the company to the point that they were opening new offices from LA to NY.
It was around this time that I came across a book by Claude C. Hopkins: Scientific Advertising. He is considered the father of modern advertising and his principles are still almost religiously practiced by top marketers to this day. I learned two very important principles: marketing is no more than sales, to the masses. And also that every dollar spent must be accountable to results. Soon I become the VP of Marketing for the SoftPages. My success then caught the attention of a company called Cornerstone Publishing and Holdings. They recruited me, and looking for a change, I accepted. Over my time there sales increased by 25 percent.
Then I came back to my first love: building things. Real Estate, specifically. I started investing in flipping homes, I loved it, and was good at it. This is where I learned how to look at value through the eyes of a buyer. In 2013, I became a Realtor, and even in only my second year, I was the 13th highest producing agent in the largest brokerage in Las Vegas; beating out entire large teams on my own. I contribute my quick rise in this industry to the skills of sales, marketing and high stakes negotiations that I mastered in the cooperate world and to a mother that loved me enough to say no.
