Las Vegas Has The Highest Grossing Restaurant In America

Restaurant Business magazine released its  annual ranking of the Top 10 Independent Restaurants in America yesterday. A Las Vegas eatery tops the list!

Tao Asian Bistro at the Venetian Las Vegas took the No. 1 post. For the fourth consecutive year in a row, I'd like to point out. For the record, Tao had a total food and beverage revenue of $42,470,345. Pretty delicious, if I say so myself,

The Las Vegas version, which opened in 2005,  is a spin-off from its sister restaurant in New York City. The Tao night club is uber popular; diners are invited to stay and party after dinner. In the old days you walked through a tunnel strewn with red rose petals to get into the nightclub.

Corporate Executive Chef Ralph Scamardella's menu incorporates culinary components from China, Japan and Thailand. 

Las Vegas had 14 restaurants on this august list. The winner was New York City with 30.
